the devil, the high priestess & the space between

🖤⚖️🤍

how often do you feel a pull between your shoulder “angel” and shoulder “devil”?

you know… like when you wake up and immediately start negotiating with yourself—snooze or gym?

or when you’re staring at a menu, trying to convince yourself that grilled protein and greens will feel better later... but damn, those truffle fries sound soooo good

or anytime you’re about to say yes to someone else—even though you know it’s a quiet (or loud) no to yourself.

these moments seem small, yet they hold weight.

they ask a subtle question: what’s the “right” thing to do? and who gets to decide?

the truth is: the lines between “good” and “bad” are rarely black and white. they’re blurry. contextual. ever-shifting.

and that’s exactly where two major archetypes show up to guide us—the devil and the high priestess.

the devil: temptation, control, shadow

the devil isn’t evil. he’s a mirror. a symbol of where we feel stuck, compulsive, addicted, or ashamed. he shows us the chains we wear that we may not even notice—habits, patterns, people-pleasing, perfectionism, even guilt over desire.

but here's the twist: most of the time, those chains? they're loose. and we could slip them right off.

when we don’t KNOW ourselves— our truths, our values, our shadows, our desires—we're more likely to stay bound. to choose out of fear, conditioning, obligation. or to forget we have a choice at all…

the high priestess: inner wisdom, stillness, sovereignty

enter the high priestess! she doesn’t shout. she doesn’t demand.she knows.

she invites us inward. to pause. to listen. to TRUST the wisdom of our gut, our dreams, our intuition. she’s not concerned with appearances—only with alignment.

she asks: is this true for YOU? not your parents, your partner, your friends, your feed. (not ron, not hermoine… #iykykYOU.

when we cultivate LOVE for ourselves—radical, compassionate, full-bodied love—we start to hear her voice more clearly. we soften our inner criticism. we stop labeling things as simply “bad” or “good” and instead get curious: why am i drawn to this? what am i avoiding? what am i needing?

from tug-of-war to integration

these two archetypes aren’t enemies.they’re dance partners.

🖤 the devil stirs the pot. he challenges us to face what we’d rather ignore.

🤍 the high priestess helps us interpret the mess. she reminds us we already know, deep down.

and the great news...

⚖️ we can hold both! we can feel the desire and the discipline.the indulgence and the intention.the shadow and the light.

and when we do? that’s when we begin to fully BE—not as some idealized version of ourselves, but as our whole, messy, intuitive, real-ass selves.

the invitation

so the next time you’re standing at a crossroads (or at a coffee shop counter thinking "croissant or fruit cup?"), remember:

  • KNOW what’s true for you—not what’s expected

  • LOVE yourself through the decision, no matter what

  • TRUST your inner voice over the noise

  • BE the one who gets to choose, unapologetically

that’s the work. that’s the freedom. that’s the magic.
